Cards, cash and shifts

Every shift opens with a float and closes with a count. What the drawer should hold is worked out for you, and any difference is recorded with who counted it.

Card payments

Card terminals record the payment on the sale, with the approval code on the receipt.

Floats, pay-ins and pay-outs

Cash taken out for supplies or put in for change is recorded with its reason and approval.

Blind cash counts

Cashiers count the drawer before seeing what it should hold; supervisors approve the difference.

Z reports and day close

Each shift ends with its Z report, and the business day closes when every shift is in.
